Gregory Frux's fascination with America's largest and wildest desert national park began as official "Visiting Artist" in 2005, followed by repeats in 2006 and 2008. He returned in 2009 to teach drawing to a university geology field school. In 2012, his project culminated with a major exhibition at the Furnace Creek Visitors Center, Death Valley National Park Headquarters. The work continues with more visits, studio paintings and graphic works about this profound wilderness.
